Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Indoctrinating Children’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike shortly after a success at the polls for his party, accusing them of “harming young minds” by telling children that black pupils are victims and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a Michigan-based religious institution, Farage outlined his perspective on the UK education system, stating that the “Marxist left” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a walkout by educators very quickly after winning the next general election,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are poisoning our kids. They instruct children to be ashamed of their country. They inform an eight-year-old black child that he is a victim and little Oliver, who is white, who is eight that he is an oppressor. They create division, instead of fostering unity. They are feeding this harmful mindset.”

Reacting to Farage’s claims, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. He pointed out that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and questioned whether the party would target these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his political career on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is targeting educators and their unions for a conflict,” Kebede stated.

“This is highly reckless. I don’t – and nor does my union – advocate such divisive theories as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, particularly schooling … and he would be a disaster for education and children.”

Reform, which is leading the polls by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on a proposed education policy and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, his comments indicated the group would reform the educational framework. He said: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. Moreover, it won’t happen quickly; it requires years, years to turn this around.”

Farage expressed that younger generations are receptive to critical thinking, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Paying tribute to a conservative activist, Farage said: “My goal for schooling is to teach critical thinking – to educate individuals that multiple perspectives exist and they should decide for themselves rather than current practices where views are labeled good or bad. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

The party has conflicted with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “extremist and prejudiced” and described the leader as “a cheap imitation”.

Farage has accused Kebede of being “a self-declared Marxist” … an individual intent that our children should be poisoned through education, their thinking tainted about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the organization seeks to brainwash teenagers against Reform.

Almost one million people are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the remainder being assistants and administrative personnel. The leading teachers’ organization has hundreds of thousands of members.

Countrywide walkouts over educators’ salaries and work environment in recent years led to significant interruptions in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also pledged to help spread the online educational material of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “key to resistance”, noting: “I am serious. I will help garner hundreds of thousands, if not millions of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a religious educational establishment, provides complimentary classes. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to maintain the benefits of freedom. The college furnishes these excellent programs for free to every interested learner.”
